Check MatchTracker this morning at 11 ET to follow the USWNT vs. Norway in the final game of group play over at the Algarve (where, presumably, it is NOT snowing)!
The US is already in the championship game as a result of their two previous wins, however this should be interesting, as they’ve not seen Norway since their 2-0 Olympic loss back in August. So there will be some extra energy attached to this match for the USWNT, I’m thinking. (Check out the video of the “sit-down” with Hege Riise on this page, too! She seems like a lovely person – I certainly enjoyed watching her in the WUSA, as well as during her international career. Must be very nice for Pia to have an assistant who speaks her language!)
Also – kudos to Maryland and Vandy for winning their respective conference tournaments. Guess the #1 seed picture just got a bit muddier (with Auburn’s defeat at the hands of Vanderbilt). Oh, it’s going to be an interesting second-half-of March!
