I’ve been taking some time this morning to catch up on Olympic soccer news and, in particular, how the Swedish team is doing. Their performance at the Olympics has paralleled that of the USWNT in ways that have surprised me, as I thought they’d be one of the stronger sides coming out of the preliminaries.

I didn’t stay up late enough to actually see Michael Phelps and his relay teammates get the gold – but what a stunner as Jason Lezak anchored an amazing race! (I was aiming to watch past 9PM, but when Bob Costas started interviewing a smirking GW Bush I had to call it a night.) Anyway [...]

Happy Saturday! You’ll be pleased to know that HollyCornblog survived Friday the 13th and didn’t run into any guys in hockey masks!
And wow – may I just say that it appears that the Phillies’ bats have come alive? The NL-East leading Phils posted a 20-2 win in St Louis, helped along by back-to-back-to-back homers by [...]
… and it’s reported on the Huffington Post that Hillary Clinton will be making a major speech tonight – one to which she’s invited major donors and supporters. If this isn’t it, it’s gotta be coming soon. It’s my hope that at this juncture, Hillary will go gracefully and the party can begin to unify.
